The Hospital Window

Life is not all that perfect there's up and down to deal with, friends come and go but am certain true friends are really hard to find.Just came from work and i decided to visit my blog i guess am not that luckcy to get some opps but its ok maybe in the future there's some for me.Am sharing to you guys an inspiring story which i love to read and i hope that you will find time to set down and read this.

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room with a hospital window. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour a day to drain the fluids from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back.

The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation. And every afternoon when the man in the bed next to the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the hospital window. The man in the other bed would live for those one-hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the outside world.

The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake, the man had said. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Lovers walked arm in arm amid flowers of every color of the rainbow. Grand old trees graced the landscape, and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance.

As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene. One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man could not hear the band, he could see it in his mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words.

Unexpectedly, an alien thought entered his head: Why should he have all the pleasure of seeing everything while I never get to see anything? It didn't seem fair. As the thought fermented, the man felt ashamed at first. But as the days passed and he missed seeing more sights, his envy eroded into resentment and soon turned him sour. He began to brood and found himself unable to sleep. He should be by that hospital window - and that thought now controlled his life.

Late one night, as he lay staring at the ceiling, the man by the hospital window began to cough. He was choking on the fluid in his lungs. The other man watched in the dimly lit room as the struggling man by the hospital window groped for the button to call for help. Listening from across the room, he never moved, never pushed his own button which would have brought the nurse running. In less than five minutes, the coughing and choking stopped, along with the sound of breathing.

Now, there was only silence-deathly silence.

The following morning the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths. When she found the lifeless body of the man by the hospital window, she was saddened and called the hospital attendant to take it away-no works, no fuss. As soon as it seemed appropriate, the man asked if he could be moved next to the hospital window. The nurse was happy to make the switch and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone.

Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look. Finally, he would have the joy of seeing it all himself. He strained to slowly turn to look out the hospital window beside the bed...........

It faced a blank wall.

Sorry guys don't have much time to visit your pages for a while it was because am taking my time earning little peso from my work(Busy working,kayud kalabaw talaga!) for me to earn a little in the future to help built my payag2(nipa hut) in the province which was being destroyed by typhoon "FRANK".Ganyan talaga ang buhay we never know what the future brings.Things happened unexpectedly lets all pray that somehow the victims and the victims family recieved justices.And that things were settled and problems solved no matter how we blamed whose faults who things happened unexpectedly.I know how painful it is losing someone you love prayers helps a lot in many ways.

It was busy day at worked when my boss called me and said"i have something for you?"I was puzzled and a bit scared too(was thinkin that she will gonna fire me .)on what it is she hide in her back.And she said don't worry and don't be scared i came here just to gave you something she handed me the pink umbrella that she said one of her favorite things.I cried and hug her because honestly not really expecting that she will gonna gave me something that she already helping me so much things.She always picked me and drop me home since i don't have licensed yet trully i am blessed.Now i am happy and proud because i have a new umbrella already am not gonna be using my old and broken one anymore.And last thing i am overwhelmed for all the things she shared to me for a year.

Its was a year ago when friends and i planned to visit Canada.We decided to go after a hard days of working of course need to save money for the trip especially now a days that gas gets a sky high already.We drove 7 hours goin there its a long ride really (hehehe) but anyways its a fun trip though.When i was young in my high school days our teacher had a lesson about beautiful places all over the world and infact Canada is one of them.And that i didn't realized and very unexpected that one day i'll gonna see and visit Canada GOD is really good all the time its a wonderful place.We visited Niagra falls had a wonderful time and was very amazed of how beautiful the falls is.It was hubby who helped us book our hotel online and set everything up for our trip.Hubby found the site in which great helped for us to find somewhere to stay and of course little cheaper too.Its was in this site when hubby found best hotels in Niagara falls http://www.niagara-falls-best-hotels.com/ and we decided to stay in the best western hotel.Its enexpensive one, people were very nice the accomodation and the everything under the sun .Best western hotel is a pet friendly one and its one block only to niagara falls.It says that Niagara falls has become one of the top travel destinations in the world.New and exciting attractions,restaurants and etc. its a beautiful place which we trully love and we had a wonderful and unforgetable trip.The maid of the mist ride which you experience to come closer by the falls,I didn't try the skylon tower though because am afraid of heights i choosed not to go with them.Then later at night we visited the wax museum and meet angelina jolie and many other famous celebrity and we wathed fireworks too near the falls.Its nice to stay there again really maybe in the future.

I lived in the province and nipa hut is my home.When i was young i've never experience having lots of times goin out and play with friends.I am young in an adult perceptions and thoughts in my early age obligation and worked lied down on my shoulder learned to stand on my own.learned to practically saves in a small way like for an instance in order for us not to buy fire woods(for cooking)i'll go and find some looking for a dried branches through our neighboorhood.No electric then so we're using lamparilya(it;s what we called)that need gas in order to have light.My grandma used to make our lamparilya its made of empty bottle soda or medecine with clothed in it.In the province where i grew up i started building up my dreams in life staring up in the sky and talked to the stars that someday i can fly and tounched the sky.I must admit life is very tough for me there's alwys up's and down's in my ways.But one thing i do alwys remember up's and down's make me standing still.

A friend of mine invited me to watched a movie with her today.its a 20minutes drive to penn cinema.She said that she will shoulder everything so(onsa pa man ako huwaton libre na ni. uban jd ko.heheheh)i said"YES".On our way to the Movie house traffic is lined up police is busy driving over to the area where the accident was.We stayed in the middle of the line(traffic)little longer so we decided to find ways to get a short cut to be there at the movie house on time.
Luckily we arrived safely and on time we purchased the ticket bought some drinks and get in.It's been a while since i went to the movie house to watched because mostly just watched movie at home never go anywhere. We watched Indiana jones by the way its a nice movie though love it.

Afritadang Manok

Makes 4-5 servings

INGREDIENTS
1 pouch
Mama Sita’s Menudo/Afritada Mix
1 cup water
2 tbsps cooking oil
1 cup potatoes,cut into 1 inch cubes
3 cups chicken,cut into serving pieces
2 pcs bell pepper,cut into strips
½ cup green peas(optional)

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS

Dissolve 1 pouch Mama Sita’s Menudo/Afritada Mix in water. Set aside.

Fry potatoes in cooking oil. Set aside.

In the same pan, stir-fry chicken until golden brown.
Pour the dissolved mix, simmer until the chicken is tender. Add hot water if necessary.

Add fried potatoes, bell pepper and green peas.

Simmer for two minutes. Serve.

Reason to smile about is because its my day off today.but i guess i can't spend the time the way i want it to be.Chores is waiting for me eagerly (hehehe).The laundry,cleaning and some other things that needs to be done(hay buhay).

Am glad almost done cleaning the house when my in law came over and handed me some coupon's.Its a big help for my next weekends grocery.I usually save some coupon's before going to the grocery its a big help really especially now a days all the prices gets high and high.Before twice a week we go to the grocery but we cut if off into once a week for we think maybe we can save a little this way.We planted some veges as well.

We attended the 55 annual World's largest chicken barbeque today after a busy day of working.Hubby and i were both tired and hungry.Good thing the traffic is not that heavy went there quick.(at last kaon na jud ni.hehehhe).
We planned to stay at the park while having our late lunch and watched people but the weather didn't permit us.Hubby decided to drove back home.It was a big box with a big piece of chicken, bread,ice cream from turkey hill,banana,and a milky way chocolate bar for 9$. The benefits of the events goes to a choosen charity.

Last night we bought pork and liver at the giant store which is a little closer to drive.Grab my "green"bag and ready to go.I had save Mama Sita mix for menudo which i purchased from the Asian store last thursday.So i decided to cook menudo for our dinner tonight since i had all the things that i needed already, infact i re check again again when we're still in the store to make sure that i haven't forgotten something(mahirap na pabalik-balik malayo.heheheh).Unlike way back home everything is close the market,the church and school but here you can't practically walk you really need to grab your car to bring you wherever destination you may go but anyways i wanna share to you guys the easy way of cooking menudo with the help of Mama Sita.Been Using this one since i first got here andfor me it helps a lot really.

You will Need:

Menudo Recipe
1 pouch Mama Sita's meat stew (menudo/afritada)mix.
1 cup potatoe diced
0.77lb diced pork
0.33lb diced pork liver
2 pcs bell pepper diced
1/3 cup cooked garbanzos
1/2 cup raisins

Here's how:
1,In a bowl,dissolve Mama sita menudo/Afritada Mix in water
2,Fry potatoes in hot oil & set aside.In the same pan,stir-fry meat untill golden brown.
3,Pour in dissolved Mama sita's Menudo/Afritada Mix.Cover and simmer untill meat is
tender.And hot water,if necessary.
4Add fried potatoes,then rest of the ingredients.Simmer for 2 minutes.
Serve hot.

Makes 5 Serving.

Carrot Cake Recipe

Ingredients

c: Flour, all purpose
1 ea: Crushed pineapple (8 oz can)
3 c: Carrots, shredded
3 ea: Large egg whites
2 ts: Cinnamon
1 ts: Baking powder
1 ts: Baking soda
1/4 ts: nutmeg
1 pn: Cloves
1 1/2 c: Sugar
3 tb: Vegetable oil
1 ts: Vanilla
3/4 ts: Salt

Method
1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2.Line up 13x9" baking pan with foil. Coat it with vegetable cooking spray.
3.Mingle all the ingredients: flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, and cloves in a bowl.
4.Beat sugar, pineapple, oil and vanilla in mixer bowl until light and smooth. Beat in dry ingredients until fully mixed. Stir in carrots.
5.Now beat egg whites in small mixer bowl to form stiff peaks; fold into carrot mixture in 2 batches with rubber spatula.
6.Pour batter into pan. Bake for 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean; cool in pan or on wire rack.
7.Invert cake onto wax paper; remove pan and foil. 8.Your Mother's Day carrot cake is ready to be served.

The earliest history of Mothers Day dates back to the ancient annual spring festival the Greeks dedicated to maternal goddesses. The other day we recieved a card from postal service,card enclosed a message stated :National Association of letter carriers STAMP OUT FOR HUNGER food drive."the National Association of letter Carriers,in conjuction with the United States postal Service,will be collecting non-perishable food items like canned meats and fish,canned soup,juice,pasta,vegestables,cereal and rice on Saturday,MAy 10th to help families in need in our community".

One day afternoon a friend of mine invited us to go to her work site we have a free ticket that she actually bought for us.We went to DUTCH WONDERLAND a kingdom for kids they say.A nice and clean place, people were nice you'll able to see many things inside(rides) which am sure kids will trully love them.Line is quiet long you'll hear kids excitement about and begging thier parents to let them go and allow them to ran all over the place.But anywhere you go you're not allowed to leave your kids an attended.Some parents hold thier kids and some carried them.Were just listening on the other side parents is patienly explaining thier kids that in a few minutes they will finally able to get in, once things is settled.
When we fin'lly get in,feeling like a kid we are.You can see many things that all the amusements park can offer it may be for a kid only but hey adult like it too.We've tried number's of rides anyway.Wish we have a kid were next tym well bring them out and enjoy the place too.Place is fantastic for kids really.
They have different rides that am sure kids will keep asking thier parents to go along with them to the ride they like.Gondola cruise,sky ride and many other's .And celebrate parties too with them. Sometimes if ran out of ideas of what to cook for the day cook books and online recipe is a big help love to eat but not a good cook(hubby is a good one!..)what i would like to have in the table alwys is filipino food that my hubby of course can eat too.things this way don;t work hehehhe,need to have food too that my hubby used to eat and he love the most (of course!)..

I wanna share to you guys these recipe that i found online my hubby like it,!

CHICKEN-PINE CURRY

You will need:

1/2 kg chicken,cut-up
2 tbsp curry powder
6 cloves garlic,crushed
1 pc medium onion,sliced
1 pc (50 g) ginger,sliced and slightly pounded
2-3 tbsp patis
1 can (234 g) DELMONTE FRESH CUT PINEAPPLE CHUNKS,drained (reserved syrup)
1- 1/2 cups thin ccnut milk
1 tbsp evaporated milk
2 medium potatoes,cut into chunks
1 pc medium red bell pepper,cut into strips

HERE'S HOW :
1,RUB chicken with curry powder.Let stand for 15 minutes.Set aside.
2,HEAT pan with 3tbsp oil.saute garlic,ginger and onion.Add chicken and patis to taste.Cook for 5 minutes,with contstant stirring.Add pineapple syrup and coconut milk.Simmer for 2o minutes or untill chicken is cooked.
3,ADD milk and potatoes then cook for another 10 minutes.Add bell pepper and DELMONTE fresh cut pineapple chunks.Simmer once.

Serves 8
Rich in Niacin--promotes normal digestion and healthy skin

Wikipedia says You Tube is a video sharing website were user's can upload,view and share video clips.it was created in mid-February 2005 by three former paypal employees...I am glad You tube was created its a fantastic idea,almost everyday i visited this site for my music interest love to watched video's and even show's (teleserye from ABS-CBN).or anything under the sun.
When i was still in the philippines i saw charice pempengco joined the search of "LITTLE BIG STAR" it's from ABS-CBN talent search for kids(of course my favorite station hehehe!)she's one of the finalist by the way,i thought she will win the grand prize but am wrong. One day TV patrol deliver the news about charice on "Ellen Degeneres show".she sung very very good really i wasn't expected that she will came that far even if she ddn't hit the grandprize...Didn't able to watched the whole story about charice's guesting of Ellen show.so i turned on the computer and wathed everything at you tube.number's of guesting she appeared as well like on PAUL O'GRADY show,she went to korea and soon at oprah winfrey show which will be shown on MAY 15...she's with ASAP today singing her debut album which out already in the market....let's all show our support for charice.May all her dreams come true!

I meet a freind from my hometown she's a daughter of my former english teacher way back home that was ohmmmppp couple of years ago hehehe,One day afternoon i recieved a letter from her through my freindster account she asked me how far is her fiancee's place from my place here (Us)...at that time she told me her interview is coming up and she said she's a bit scared and excited (i guess we all felt this way during are times!..)..
Yesterday my phone rung i thought its my co worker but am surprised that was the daughter of my teacher (high school teacher)!!!.we talked anything and eveything under the sun even in a short while ..We agreed to see each other in the near future if we're not that busy anymore...its a small world indeed...!!!..

The weather is nice i loved it!... today hubby promised to give me a ride we will buy some flowers in a near inexpensive store,there i could pick things(flowers) i like,colors i like as well,you can pick anything you like too bec.there's lots of stuff to choose from and guess what you get a good deal too.that's a wonderful thing to think about!....(hehehehe)

Amazing grace,It's the only way to describe the incredible transformation that took place in the life of john newton.Newton was born in London in 1725.His mother died when he was seven.His father sent him to sea at age eleven.Working first as a cabin boy and then deckhand,John was exposed to a life of drunkennes,profanity and immortality---and he embraced it.

Soon,John surpassed his peers in outrageous behavior.sharp-witted and sarcastic,he wrote offensive songs mocking the ship's officers and expressing his contempt for their authority.He amused himself by inventing new swear words and leading his peers on reckless and dangerous escapades.He frequently deserted his post.still in his teens,John was briefly enslaved on an african plantation and nearly died.But instead of sobering him,the experience only served to strengthen his rebellious spirit.

After Newton regained his freedom,he served time in the british Navy and eventually became captain of his own slave ship.As a slave trader,Newton's heart heart grew even harder.He earned a reputation for being a foul-mouthed,ill-tempered man,despised by his subordinates and superiors alike.He cared for no one but himself and sought nothing but his own pleasure.

Then one night,John Newton hit rock bottom.He had been punished for misbehavior by being publicly humiliated,beaten,and stripped of his rank.His attempts to regain his position had failed.No one cared to take up his cause.Now caught in a fierce storm,he came face to face with gripping fear of death.As the waves pounded the ship and filled his cabin with water,terror filled newton's heart.He fought desperately to save the ship,bailing water and plugging holes in the hull with the ship's sails,burlap bag's,even his own clothing.As an experienced sailor,John knew he had little chance of survival.and he was not ready to face eternity.

Memories of his childhood came flooding back---the bible verses and hymns his GOD-fearing mother had taught him,her prayers on his behalf.John tried to cry out to god mercy,but he was stopped abruptly by the thought of how little he deserved it.How could he turn to GOD for help, when he had ignored Him for so long?.John spent a harrowing night in deep soul-searching.

The following day,the storm subsided,Miraculously,the battered ship found safe harbor.it was then,Newton said,that he became convinced that"there is a GOD that hears and answers prayer.",He discovered a new the love of GOD expressed in scrpture:.

"GOD so loved the world,that He gave His only begotten Son,that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish,but have everlasting life.For GOD sent his Son into the world to condemn the world,but that that world through Him might be saved" (John 3:16.17).

In the midst of the storm,Newton's eyes had been opened.He realized hat he was a sinner,in need of a savior.For the first time,he understood the meaning of GOD's grace.Repenting of the sins of his past,he surrendered his life to GOD completely.In an instant,he became a new man.

Years later,as he reflected on his experience,Newton penned the words:

Amazing grace---how sweet the sound---that saved a wretch like me! I once was lost but now am found,was blind but now i see.

'Twas grace that taught my heart to hear,and grace my fears relieved;

how precious did that grace appear the hour I first believed!

Though many dangers,toils and snares I have already come; 'tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,and grace will lead me home.

At the age of 39,the former slave trader became a pastor.He dedicated the rest of his life to sharing with other's the good news of the gospel: that JESUS christ had come to 'seek and save the lost.' (Luke 19:10) Newton led the abolitionist movement in Great Britain,exposing the evils of slavery nad fighting to outlaw the vile trade he had once engaged in.In his epitaph,he summed up his life this way:

John Newton,clerk,

Once an infidel and libertine,

A servant of slaves in africa,

Was by the rich mercy of our LORD and SAVIOR

JESUS CHRIST.,

preserved,restored,pardoned,

And appointed to preach the faith he Had long laboured to destroy...

husband and i cleaned our garden already last week excited so to say , i've been thinking about what veges (seeds) to buy i have numbers of veges in my mind that i liked...my favorite veges when i was still in the philipines like the okra,squash and many other, wish to plant them all but i guess i cant bec.the space(garden)is not that big..ehehehehe but i have these in mind what if i will plant some in the pot???...but i'm afraid it will not work ohmmm i guess i will try and see what will happen(but i hope it will work..hehheeh)....and one thing am happy about is i found some seeds in the box in the kitchen.i have few seeds to start with for today.!the weather is nice outside so i guess its a nice day to start planting,...opppsss but before i go thanks to you for taking time visiting my blog..have a nice day everyone!!!..
